Ait Atta Caravan (8 days,5 days walking)

Easy tour.

Ait Atta Ethnic is a group of Nomadic tribes who drive camels and herds of
sheep and goats from the higher valleys of the Atlas Mountains across
the lower Anti-Atlas to the great oasis of the Southern Desert in the winter.
The journey may take months, yet in spring they turn around and ascend once
again to higher pastures. This trek takes in some of the highlights of their trek.

Day 1:  Arrive in Ouarzazate, meet your guide, transfer to your hotel

Day 2:  Ouarzazate / Agdz / Tazarine / Tamsahlte

Transfer in the morning to Tazarine via the Draa Valley. At the crossroads we turn to the left towards Tzarine to join our local team in Tamsahlte Village. We stop for a picnic lunch with our camel drivers and walk to our campsite.

Day 3:  Tamsahlte / Ait Ouaazik

We start walking along the Taghbalt river to Ait Ouaazik Village where we will have lunch and enjoy the engraved stones. We cross the plateau seeing palms and how farms are irrigated in the desert. A free afternoon.

Day 4:  Ait Ouaazik / Amrade Lake

After breakfast, we carry on along the river, crossing farms and passing palm trees, to get to our campsite into Amrade Village next to a well. There is the possibility of having a shower in the dried lake. We have lunch at our campsite.

Day 5:  Amrade / Taghbalte / Berraghwa

Today we enjoy corssing villages with their very old architecture ( kasbahs, marabots) and the people who live here, whose descendants are from South Africa. We stop for lunch after the village of Ait Haddou, and continue to the centre where you can visit the Souk of Taghbalte for shopping or a drink. Then we head to our campsite in Berraghwa Dunes to enjoy the sunset. 

Walking 6h

Day 6:  Berraghwa / Foum Tizza

Our walk starts via the plateau of Berraghwa to reach the sandy gorges and the rocky desert. We then head for the magnificient dunes of Foum Tizza where we will have lunch. The afternoon is free with an optional walk to enjoy the sunset. 

Walking 4h

Day 7:  Foum Tizza / Serdrar / Ouarzazate

This is the last day of walking before heading back to Ouarzazate. We head to the old village of Serdrar, where you may be lucky to find old fossils,  to have lunch and get our transport back to Ouarzazate.
